is there a way to turn off an image or object being moved so only the image or object is visible?

Hi,

You probably mean that the original object remains where it was and you are moving a preview to its new location.
The duality can indeed interfere with giving it a new location. (e.g. FS#2301 by Husky)
Also annoying when moving text.

But it can also be handy because QCAD can still snap to references of the original.

Neither the original nor the preview can be turned off.
It are two fully independent things, the preview is not yet a drawing entity.

The solution is then:
- Select what to move.
- 'Cut with Reference' (RT) and indicate a reference position. (For example the lower left marker of a bitmap entity)
- 'Paste' (PS) and reposition the object. Followed by a right-click = Cancel.

The disadvantage might be that this involves a new entity that replaces the original.
The handle and the drawing order may change.

Regards,
CVH

That works. I realized I was not very clear with my question. This was what I needed. Thanks.
