Hello Andrew,

In my opinion, for more accurate translation, words should be given at list in a contest (whole sentence would be the best), because in some cases they may have more than one meaning (never mind that it can be a very fine line between synonyms).

Thank you.

Hello from Ukraine.
I teach my students to use QCAD 3.32.4 Community Edition for creating technological and construction drawings. While working with the software, I noticed that some Ukrainian interface terms are translated inaccurately and do not always correspond well to technical terminology.

I would like to contribute to improving the Ukrainian translation. However, the website translate.qcad.org seems to be unavailable at the moment and returns the message “Invalid SSL certificate (Error code 526)”.

Could you please advise on the best way to contribute to the Ukrainian translation, if this is still relevant?

You can view and adjust user interface translations using GitHub at (GitHub account required):
https://github.com/qcad/qcad/tree/master/ts

Note that the lastet release of QCAD comes with some user interface improvements:

Thank you for the clarification.
I still notice a number of inaccuracies and ambiguities in the Ukrainian UI translation, especially in technical terms such as color names. I will try to get familiar with the GitHub workflow and propose improvements via pull requests.

OK, many thanks for your work on this.

If you find something that is consistently wrong, you can also ask Copilot to fix it for you. Simply open an issue and assign it to Copilot. If your tokens are not enough, please let me know and I will run it in the QCAD repository.

I would like to apologize in advance for a bit of confusion on my side.

While working on Ukrainian localization, I did not fully understand how multiple pull requests affecting the same .ts files interact with each other. As a result, some of my later fixes unintentionally reverted parts of earlier accepted translations.

Because of this, I will need to submit some of the translation improvements again in new pull requests to restore the correct wording.

I am sorry for the extra noise this may cause and kindly ask for your understanding. I am still learning the workflow and will be more careful with rebasing and batching related changes going forward.

Thank you for your patience and for maintaining the project.

Hello, Andrew.
Thank you for the prompt approval of my corrections.
I have completed the review and improvement of the Ukrainian translation in four files: qcadcore_uk.ts, qcadentity_uk.ts, qcadgui_uk.ts, and scripts_uk.ts. Do I need to work on any additional files? I have read on the forum that each tool also has its own .ts translation file.
I have also seen mentions that it is possible to transfer these files to a local computer in order to evaluate the translation quality, identify potential errors, and detect inconsistencies.
I would appreciate your feedback, but I will fully understand if a response is not very prompt during the Christmas holidays.
