Does Qcad support automatic line wrapping?

Post by yyj » Tue Dec 16, 2025 7:48 am

Now I want to know if QCAD supports automatic line wrapping? Because the version I am currently using is quite old, would you like to see if it supports automatic line wrapping?

When Qcad is on the CentOS system and QCAD is called to convert to PDF in CentOS, how does the resulting PDF automatically break lines?

Just like the image I attached below, such a long sentence doesn't wrap itself, so I need to implement automatic line wrapping when implementing this feature, so that I can print out every line of text when converting PDF. Thank you

If the text entity in the DXF or DWG file has its text width set to non-zero, the text is automatically wrapped at or after the given width at the next space.

Note that this will not work for Chinese as if I understand this correctly, Chinese generally does not use spaces between words.
I'm afraid QCAD does not support automatic text wrapping for Chinese and other Asian languages that do not use spaces.

I've had a look into Chinese line wrapping logic and if it is as simple "wrapping is allowed anywhere", we could introduce experimental wrapping between Han Characters:

If you can provide an example file, we can test this here with your file.
