Flytracker appears to have the same problem, as this report was rejected when I inserted the same characters into the title. Query {SELECT tag_id FROM `flyspray_list_tag` WHERE (project_id=0 OR project_id=?) AND tag_name LIKE ? ORDER BY project_id} with params {1,} Failed! (Illegal mix of collations (utf8_unicode_ci,IMPLICIT) and (utf8mb4_general_ci,COERCIBLE) for operation 'like')

Hi,
IMHO the rendering of Capture.JPG seems to be correct.
The source for this Rich Text formatted text is:

\c1315860;Test of section symbol \C256;§\PTesting with no section symbol

Meaning:
- "Test of section symbol " in color 1315860 followed by "§" in color 256 and a NewLine
- the second line is "Testing with no section symbol" still in color 256

With that difference that when you edit such a text in QCAD then \C256 becomes \c0.
Rich Text must not be confused with RTF.

\c1315860 or #141414 in RGB is a very dark gray (about 8% R,G and B).
\c or \C with value 0 or 256 is (about) black but you probably have the 'Prevent white on white / black on black display' Application Preference active.

I agree that it becomes odd in paper view (Print Preview - Layouts)
Then /C256 is rendered as white on white and /c0 as black on white.
\c1315860 remains dark gray.
One can prevent white on white paper too.

The rendering of the included dxf follows the same rules.

This is more likely something for:
