I want to do break out gaps on the cyan layer of attached file.
but the function always presents me the line on the locked yellow layer instead of the above unlocked cyan layer.
I would expect that just the unlocked layer is used for line selection (like after a "reset" command) and others just for positioning the gap
Workaround:
1) hide the yellow layer, then I can select the cyan line,
2) unhide the yellow layer and find the planned gap position and make the gap.
This is an inconvenience because I have to do 10th´s of gaps
macOS: 15.0.1
Closure comment
Locking prevents from selection or modification but not from picking entities. Entities on locked layers may still be a valid choice for many tools (e.g. drawing offsets or rounding without trimming). To also prevent picking of entities, make the layer not "snappable".

Hi,
An entity on a locked layer means that the entity itself is immutable.
But it can still be seen as the nearest intersecting entity for Break out Segment (D2).
Or have a meaning for other tools.
Hiding or freezing the layer is the common practice.
Or use Break out Manual (B2).

Requested closure: Not a bug, intended behavior.
