Shortcut Y+, Y- fails for selecting Layer Entities in a Layer List. Letter is ignored and +, - zooms the drawing

I usually use a right-click on/near the intended layer name and then select/deselect entities.
I discovered if one types 'Y+' or 'Y-' several times one can end up with 'YY' and a dialog is presented to duplicate the layer.
So yes, the 'Y' seems to be ignored but then again it is not.
