FS#2543 - Polygonal Area Tool (IR) exception when drawing unit is set to Inch
Upon activating the Polygonal Area Tool either by clicking on the toolbar or by the IR keyboard shortcut the tool will persistently draw a polygon without clicking anything. This happens with the mouse and the trackpad on the MacBook Pro. This was happening in 3.29.3, and then after I upgraded to 3.29.4. The MacOS version is 14.1 Sonoma.

That it creates a polygon is standard behavior.
The presented art is not because you need to click for each poly node.

Yes I am familiar with the tool from previous use. I am not even able to select a starting point, as soon as the tool is selected the shape begins when the cursor travels back onto the drawing area with no other mouse clicks.
I made a screen recording. The first is just clicking the toolbar, the second is using the IR keyboard shortcut.

Weird behavior ... As if LF is active but then without pressing the mouse button.

I'm unable to reproduce this problem here.
Does this happen consistently?
Does this happen only with this tool or also with other tools?
Does it happen after restarting QCAD?
Yes, this is happening 100% consistently. I have only noticed this behavior with this one specific tool. It continues to happen after restarting QCAD, and after upgrading from 3.29.3 to 3.29.4. I just noticed now that I have an update available for MacOS. I will perform that update and report back. Thank you
No improvement after updating to Sonoma 14.4
Please try to reset your configuration and report back if that fixes the problem:
https://qcad.org/en/tutorial-resetting-the-qcad-configuration
Okay, I deleted the config file and restarted QCAD (it did revert back to original setings) and no improvement. I then uninstalled QCAD, rebooted the computer, and reinstalled QCAD and still no improvement.
Thanks. I'll have to leave it at that for now as this is not reproducible here. If you can think of anything else that might contribute to this behaviour, please let us know.
I too am experiencing the very same problem with Polygonal Area (IR) running QCAD/CAM ver. 3.29.6.0 on an M2 Mac Studio OS X Sonoma 14.4.1 after I upgraded from 3.28.2, which worked fine. This is a command I use often.
I also have this same issue. It only appears with the arm64 build, the Intel build (qcad-3.30.1-pro-macos-10.14-14.dmg) behaves as expected.
System: 2022 M2 macbook air
OS: Sonoma 14.6.1
Installer: qcad-3.30.1-pro-macos-12.7-14-qt6-arm64.dmg
Michael: Thanks for your report. We haven't been able to reproduce this here so far but a potential fix has been implemented for the next release.
QCAD Snapshot release 3.31.1.1 should fix this issue. Please confirm.
Just installed 3.31.1.1 and the issue has been fixed! Thank you for the help.
