FS#2656 - Select subset of a drawing and "export" just that to PDF or SVG
I’d like to be able to select a portion of a given DXF file,
then export and get a PDF or SVG with just that selection.
Among the use cases is multiple versions of a design on a single sheet,
but I’ll export and use just one of them in another program.

What I do now is delete the rest of the drawing,
export, then "undo". Kinda scary.
I do practically the same but not at different locations.
Making use of a hybrid layer system.
An empty parent layer for each version of a design
And the required sub-layers in the standard sense to control entity attributes.
Freezing all but one design by top layer lets me export only the required details.
In final stage I could delete the others ...
Even then, the final drawing file is a copy of all by top layer in a new DXF/DWG.
